Volunteers from Greater Acomb Community Forum (GACF) have been working hard week in week out to maintain and improve the street scene in Acomb Front Street including planting and watering flowers along the street and helping to design better local signage.

GACF have also been lobbying Morrisons locally and nationally to manage their site in Acomb better, including cutting back brambles from their site which grow across the public pavement and around the bus stop on Green Lane Acomb.

On 2 July 2025 GACF took direct action to address the worst of the overhanging brambles so that people can walk more safely along the pavement and getting on and off buses at the bus stop.

GACF will continue to lobby Morrisons, Acomb to take more responsibility for maintaining their whole site properly.
