If you fancy a couple of hours getting some fresh air and doing some good for your local community why not join us for the Acomb Litterpick?

This is a great way to clean up the streets where you live and make new friends. It is a community friendly activity which takes place every couple of months in the Greater Acomb area.

It is organised by the Greater Acomb Community Forum and we usually meet at the Bluebird Bakery - but also meet in other locations, so we can clean up different areas of Acomb.

Our next event is on Sunday 3rd November at 2 - 4pm. We are meeting at the Bluebird Bakery on Acomb Road.

All you need to do is turn up. You'll see us with out yellow 'volunteer' vests! We have all the kit and will talk you through the dos and donts to keep you safe.

People are very friendly and many stop to thank us for the work. It's surprisingly rewarding. If you know of a place in Acomb that really needs tidying up then please let us know and come along to help us. Children can come too but they must be supervised by an adult.
